David G. Bendell, 76, passed away April 14, 2011 in the comfort of his home. Mr. Bendell was born August 13, 1934 to the late Ernest and Ruth Bendell in Brockton, MA. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. David was an Engine Inspector with Pratt and Whitney for over 33 years. David loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed hanging out with his "Virginia Beach Family" at "Dockers" and "The Club House". He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory is: two daughters, Susan O'Brien and husband William, LuAnn Bellefleur; son, David A. Bendell; two brothers, Ernest Bendell and longtime companion Jean Mayer, Donald Bendell and wife Janice; sister, Priscilla Andrews; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and longtime friends, Leo and Inga Leary, John Otis, and Mary Leone. He is preceded in death by his wife, Violette M. Bendell; and a son, Thomas J. Bendell. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
