For some reason I thought of Dr D today and was so upset to read that she had passed away almost 2 years ago. In 1969 I brought my 3 month old daughter Judy to her. For almost 9 years she kept her alive even with a very bad and complicated heart defect . Judy died in 1978, just short of her ninth birthday. Dr Danilowicz took it very hard and wrote to me on the first anniversary of Judy's death, telling me she had lit a candle for her. I still feel so sad. Someone so loving and knowledgeable should never have died. Now I know that she is finally with Judy and can comfort and care for her again. Joan Gore

Dr Delores cared for my infant daughter Rebecca back in 1984. She was a very caring and sensitive doctor and I appreciate that to this day.

A piece of my heart just went too. She and Dr Spencer took on the case of a young 7 year old boy who developed heart problems from Rheumatic Fever and this "young boy" of now 55 will forever be grateful to her for saving my life. Thank you Doc for helping me get through all my surgeries I am eternally grateful and I bid you a loving farewell the way you always greeted me upon every one of my follow-up visits to you:"Greetings and Salutations!"

Dr.D took care of our daughter for more than 25 years. Our pediatrician gave a list of doctors to see when Stephanie was diagnosed. When we met Dr.D. it was if the heavens opened and God told us "this is the person to take care of your daughter". When my daugher had her first surgery her head had to be held striaight for hours. The doctors told us Dr.D. was the one that held her head the whole time. When Steph was in an off off Broadway play weeks after surgery Dr. D with Dr. Gabriel came to the play. When Steph was at another hospital as an adult Dr.D. came to visit her. Dr.D. gave Steph her home phone number and said to call whenever she had a question. All this things will always be in our hearts.

Dear Dr. D, You were one of my Greatest teachers. Thank you for your help and encouragement on my docoraral work and teaching me so much about pediatric cardiology and what hard work really meant. You taught me vectorcardiology and I am applying those principles even today in my study on the elctrophysiology of DNA. You could lecture on S2 for over an hour and have us all on the edge of our seats the whole time! I will never forget you and all your help with underserved children. Enjoy your tributes and well-deserved peace and rest. Respectfully Yours, Dana Connolly.

Oh Danny, it's hard to believe you are gone just as it is impossible to forget all the zillion things you taught me in words and in action. You were my first medical role model, starting in 1969 when I was a second year medical student, and remained always at the top of my list throughout medical school and residency at NYU, professional life elsewhere, and life in general. Deepest condolences to you, Paul, from both of us.

Dr. Danny, you were one of the best teachers I had during my year of pediatrics. We all appreciated your energy and the obvious care you had for your trainees and patients. After I defected to the department of psychiatry, I remember telling your husband about how terrific I thought you were! You will be missed by MANY. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Sincere condolence. Great teacher. Difficult to keep up with her either in walking or in analyzing clinical information on patients. She just knew, where we (fellows) will make mistakes and effortlessly directed us through the right path. We are all grateful for her efforts in shaping our careers.

I will always remember Danny as a sweet, kind, generous, warm and lovable person. Her passing leaves a feeling of loss and sadness. Her life revolved around preserving life. Nothing can be greater than that. I remember my Aunt Ruth, her mother-in-law, repeating 'how hard Danny takes it when she loses a patient.' May her memory serve as an example to all those who desire to give.

Forty years later and I still remember my pediatric cardiology elective with Dr. Danilowicz. What a great teacher. Only she could have made vectorcardiography fun.

Dr. D was my daughter Stephanie's cardiologist. There are no words to express how fortunate we were to have Dr. D in our lives. She helped me through so many difficult times and was always available to answer questions and for comfort. My daughter loved her. She will be missed.
