Douglas Dale Chipman Jr. "SAM"
4/2/1965 ~ 2/22/2012
Sam had a most competitive personality growing up-possibly stemming from being the baby of the family. In high school, he was all state football and one of the few to receive a football scholarship. He never gave up on his goals; his hard work took him far. He served an LDS mission to London, England. He would talk about his mission constantly to his friends and family. It was one of the greatest things he had the opportunity of doing in Life; serving his Heavenly Father.
His love for the Gospel showed when it came to raising his children and serving his family. He knew his role as a father and husband and did all he could to honor that. All Sam ever wanted from this life was to be surrounded by his family and the ones he loved.
No man has ever loved his children the way Sam loved his. He did everything in his power to make sure they had everything they needed. He was determined to see them reach their goals and help them be the best they could be. Sam spent countless hours teaching his children about hard work and succeeding, coaching his children to reach their full potential, conversing with his children about life and their passions, and loving his children more than anyone could think was possible.
He stated that the most memorable, best day he's ever had was when he sent his son, Dallin, on an LDS mission. He never realized he'd miss his son so much, but has never experienced so many tears of happiness in his life. All he wanted was for his kids to be raised in, live, and cherish the gospel.
Sam was always known for his determination in building his businesses. Nothing ever had a limit with Sam. He felt that anything was possible and preached that through his actions. A common thing that came out of his mouth was, "The only people who succeed in life are those who have heart. If you don't have heart, you don't have anything." In a note Sam wrote his daughter a few years ago, it said - "It isn't how you start; it's how you finish. Be a finisher!" Quitting was never in Sam's vocabulary. He fought to take care of his family until his last day here.
He may be gone physically, but the impressions he's made will never be forgotten.
Survived by his parents Douglas D. Chipman & Gloria Fay Chipman, wife Cindy K. Chipman, and children CshaNel (Ben) Smith, Shanon Chipman, Dallin Chipman, Camille Chipman, Samuel Chipman.

Steve and Family, My deepest condolences in this time of loss. Sam was a great guy and an awesome athlete back in school. He still owns the most Utah high school football fumbles recovered in one season (10) from 1982. I have great memories of Sam; as being a close friend with Steve. I haven't seen him through the years since school but it's obvious he was a great family man and lived a full life. My prayers go out to you.

Chipman Family,
I am sorry for your loss. I went to High School with Sam, and although I didn't get a chance to know him, he was legendary...on the football team and in Seminary. I wish his family comfort at this difficult time.

Cindy and family, I just want to let you know how sorry I am for your loss. I have known Sam for years, he was a great friend we had a lot of fun, he was a great example of dedication and hard work. I have a lot of fun memories from football, school and missions. My parents loved Sam and my mom loved that he felt comfortable enough to raid our fridge when he came over to our house. Mine and my family's prayers go out to you at this time.

It's with ultimate sadness that I'm writing this to the Chipman family. Sam was truly one of the best. As part of our high school 'gang', you could always count on Sam to make sure all of us where always alright in any situation we might have gotten ourselves into. He was one of a kind and will be truly missed. I wish him PEACE and God's Blessings to all of you.
