Douglas Hiram Lynn, Sr., 80, of Savannah, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born in Graham, Georgia, and was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Lynn, his parents, Hiram and Nellie Lynn, and his sister, Marilyn Newsome.
He was a graduate of Savannah High School, and was retired from American Cyanamid with 38 years of service, as an Electrician. He attended White Bluff United Methodist Church.
He leaves a Legacy: A Man of Honor, Respect for his Fellow Man and Deep Dedication to his Family.
Douglas endeared himself to many People at Work, in his Neighborhood and to his Family, especially to his nieces and nephews. He was always ready to lend a hand or an ear to others.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Chapman Lynn, of Savannah, Ga; his son, Douglas Hiram Lynn, Jr., (Melissa Aston Lynn) of Vero Beach, Fla,, brothers and sisters in law, Delores and Billy Long, and Arlene and Emmit Hendrix, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. John Haney, and Rev. David Stanton, officiating.
Interment: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances: "Big Brother" and "Big Sisters" of Savannah, 428 Bull Street, Suite 203, Savannah, Ga 31401.

Mr. Lynn's family, I am so sorry. I know my parents are going to miss him so much. I could call my parent's house and ask to speak to my dad.......most common answer............he is down at Mr. Lynn's. I am really going to miss his humor and stories my parents would share with me about him. He was always so kind to my children and always would remind me that I had some good kids!!!! He knew how to make a mom feel good.
