COLUMBIA -
Earldean G. Austin, 77, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2011 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at St. Andrews Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Mrs. Austin was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished family, friends, and the many customers she served during her 25 years as a sales associate at J.B. White.
She was a daughter of the late Worley G. Griffin and Bertha J. Griffin of Monroe, NC
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas D. Austin; daughters, Rhonda (Jeff) Costner of Irmo, SC, Kathy (Jimmy) Dodson, Norma Jean (Mike) Hill and Amy (Pat) Abrams, all residing in Lexington, SC; sister, Margie G. Pressley of Culpepper, VA; brother, Kenneth G. Griffin of Monroe, NC; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC, 29648 or The Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or to the St. Andrews Baptist Church building fund.
