Elvira G. Alvarez was born to the late Pedro and Margarita Gomez on November 27, 1929 in Marion, Texas. She was called home to be with our Lord on November 26, 2017 in Seguin, Texas at the age of 87. Elvira is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Alvarez; sons, Antonio Alvarez, Ernest Alvarez; daughters, Lucy Alvarez, Bertha Alvarez; great-great-grandchildren, Ashli Lopez and Blue Lopez. She is survived by her children, Terrie Alvarado and husband Rudy, Joe Alvarez and wife Nancy, Velia Leal and husband Marcelino, Robert Alvarez and wife Sandra, Samuel Alvarez and wife Barbara, Alicia Martinez and Henry Alvarez; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Elvira was a very loving and caring person whose door to her home was always open to all of her family. She will be deeply missed and was truly loved by all. Pallbearers will be: Joe Alvarez, Jr., Robert Alvarez, (Honorary) Henry Alvarez, Rudy Gomez, Samuel Alvarez, Antonio Alvarez, Jr., and Jordan Leal. A visitation will begin Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm at Goetz Funeral Home. A funeral procession will depart Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:00am for a 10:30am Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Goetz Funeral Home.
