Estalene Rhodes Barnes, 86, of Lumberton died Friday, January 18,2013 at Woodhaven Nursing home.
Mrs. Barnes was a native of Robeson county and a daughter of the late, John Brown and Sallie Ivey Rhodes. She was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ward Barnes . Her beloved son William Rhodes "Billy" Barnes. and two sisters, Marjorie R. Bass and Bernice R. Bullock.
She is survived by a daughter; Freda Barnes Pitman of Lumberton. Two grandchildren Billy Pitman and Brian Pitman. One brother John B. Rhodes Jr. of Cary. Five sisters; Betty Lou Ivey of Proctorville, Lavice R. Lee of Fairmont, Rosa R. Phillips of Lumberton. Patsy R. Bullock of Orrum and Ann R. Grice of Lumberton .
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 P. M. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Biggs Funeral home Chapel. Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 22,2013 at Floyd Cemetery in Fairmont. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Freda Pitman at 3057 Westminister Road in Lumberton.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeastern Foundation, P.O. Box 1408 Lumberton, NC 28359.
