Thinking of you today Dad and a lot lately. I went hiking with a friend at Wallace Falls. The moss covered rocks and trees and huckleberry bushes etc reminded me of the hikes you took us on in the Columbia gorge as kids. I told my friend how you taught us to test the rocks in the rivers and creeks before we stepped on them, to make sure they were stable first. I still do that. Maybe mom and I will come see you at your grave this weekend. I know your spirit is around me.

I will always remember Uncle Gene for lots of wonderful loving conversations His insight and advice were dear. But what I will mostly remember Uncle Gene for his food presentations. I know that sounds silly, but Aunti Jacqulin would cook this amazing feast, and Uncle Gene would place the food on a plater, with grapes and greens and prepare it for presentation. I learned a few tricks from the trade, but I also found it funny to see a "man" concerned about presentation, until I saw him beam with pride for Aunti Jacqulin when she brought out the dish. Now that was love. I will miss my Uncle. Love Roz

I'm sorry to hear about Gene, he was one of my favorites since I was young, always easy to talk to, and later as I got older very interesting to talk with.

He will certainly be missed.

Love Gerry and Kristi.

Dear Jacqueline and All the Family,

I'm so sorry to hear about Gene's death. But as you say it has been difficult for him during recent times and perhaps a good thing that his suffering is over. Nonetheless it is never easy to say goodbye to a parent or spouse.

Though I can't be there for the service, know that I am there in spirit and will be making prayers for him to have an easy journey.

Gene was one of my mother's favorites in the family. I know that he brought her much joy and certainly made her life easier when he was her very willing chauffer for shopping, appointments and so forth. Although she is not around to miss his presence, I'm sure that there are many whose lives have been touched by Gene's presence who will miss him very much

Love and best wishes to you all,
T.Y.

Dear Jacqueline and family,
So sad to hear of Gene's passing. Sorry he has not been in better health these last years. Years ago in the early 60s I had the privledge off kid sitting for the Westbergs. Doug, who was smarter than me and probably new it, handsome Bobby, cute and sweet Christy, and red checked Bernie in diapers. I lived clear across town, but Gene gave me rides. He was a quite and thoughtful man, but we had some good talks during those trips. Mom is so sad that we did not make the funeral, but the notice was too short for us. We send our thoughts and love..David Evans
