Gerald Ernest "Jerry" Meadows, Sr., 75 of Shady Spring, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from an extended illness.



Born on March 5, 1939 in Beckley, West Virginia.



Mr. Meadows was an avid outdoorsman having enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also attended the Fairview Free Will Baptist Church in Flat Top faithfully where he served as a deacon for several years. Mr. Meadows also served our country in the United States Navy where he was employed as an electrician.



Surviving family members are his wife, Mrs. Patricia (Fuller) Meadows, at home; son, Gerald Ernest Meadows, Jr. and wife Amber of Orangeville, California; daughters, Deborah Hughes and husband Charlie of Cool Ridge, and Pamela Israel of Charleston, WV; sister, Judy Wade of Salem, VA; and grand children, Nicki Israel, Melissa Wood-Israel—both of Charleston, WV, Jennifer Israel of Pax, and Gareth Meadows of Orangeville, CA.



Services to celebrate the life of Gerald Meadows, Sr. will be conducted at 3pm Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Charlie Tilley and Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Entombment will follow at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum also in Beckley.



Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.



Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 6-9pm.



In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Gerald.
