Casar Lodge 579

We are all saddened by Brother Horace's passing. Brother Horace always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell and a laugh that's unforgettable. He will be missed but not forgotten!

I just learned of Horace's passing. I am so sorry. I always thought a lot of him from church (Faith United methodist- gastonia)
Sue & Car Auten are my in-laws and he was always good to all of us. Our prayers are with the family.

Dick Graham

As a court reporter at the courthouse in Gastonia, I knew Horace fairly well. In some ways he was a true "character". I recall his "taking on" the whole bar association at one point over a legal issue. After a year of hearings, he did lose the case but it took guts as a lone attorney to do this. I reported many many trials when Horace was representing either a plaintiff or defendant. When you hired Horace, you got everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) he had to give.
His service to his country and community should be honored -- and remembered.
Sincerly,
Dick Graham

Vaughn and Bill, I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Horace was one of those people you never forget. He did many things for many people and will be missed by more than a few. I'll always have fond memories of his booming voice and laugh!

Bill & Vaughn, Sorry to hear about Horace's passing. He was really a great guy, and I always enjoyed his cheerful, happy spirit. I'll always remember him taking us to Grier School, dropping us off with his "study hard and acquire knowledge" spill everyday! Those were the days!

He was my first football coach 34 years ago when I was 13 years old. He had a very positive impact on my life.
