I just learned about your Dad today (October 25). I waould have been at the service had I known of his passing. Your Dad had a wonderful sense of humor and was truly a classy person. He was always talking about his sweet granddaughter--he loved her so. I have been missing his great e-mails and that is how I discovered his passing. He was a great friend in business. I am certain that you have many wonderful memories of Jim and thoughts of good times that bring a smile to your face. May you each cherish the legacy he left you.

5Jun13. Jim was a grand friend I never met except daily in the chat room. His comments right to the point and he had a wonderful sense of humor.
He will be missed but not forgotten!

So sorry for this loss for you and Toby. I remember your home when we were young children. Love and laughter, support, happiness, a sense of welcome. Remember all of those things, you were raised by great parents and I am sure hear their words from your lips from time to time with your own parenting. They were the best, carry the torch!

Love you. Lisa Moore

I knew Jim for almost 20 years. Even though we only saw each other a few times since he was in Florida and I was in New York our daily phone calls created a terrific bond. He was a great friend, mentor and confidant. We shared our good and bad times. I still miss our regular daily phone chat at 8:30 in the morning and our end of the week 3PM phone call. He loved his family and was especially proud of his granddaughter, Christina. To Julie, John and Christina, your father and grandfather was truly one of a kind in the best sense of the term.

Jim Abbott, better known as Ojada to his many online friends, was witty and personable--one who was ever ready to share his knowledge and expertise. Jim was a highly respected and beloved member of our online community and looked forward to our Sunday night trivia game, He will be the subject of a moment of silence tonight.

I am sorry for your loss--Jim was one of my earliest online friends--we shared the mindset, integrity and zest for life. Jim Abbott will never really be gone so long as he remains in our thoughts.

Go with God Jim,
