Jessie Mays Alderman, 91, died Saturday May 1, 2010 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS
Ms. Alderman was a graduate of Jackson Central High School and Clark's Business College. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years and was past Worthy Matron of Radiant Chapter #120. She was a member of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church for many years and was a charter member of Riverside Independent Methodist Church.
Ms. Alderman was the daughter of Ross H. Mays and Johnie Cain Mays and had been a lifelong resident of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren G. Alderman. Survivors include her children Steve (Carolyn) of Canton, Michigan, Linda (Dr. Bert Bratton) of Slidell, LA and Larry of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Caryn Alderman of Allen Park, Michigan, Jerry Brewer of Wesson, MS, and Tara Brewer of New Orleans, LA; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral on High st. in Jackson, MS. Visitation will between the hours of 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM Thursday, May 6 and after 10:00 AM Friday. The service will be at 11:00 AM Friday May 7, 2010. Interment will follow the service in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Radiant Chapter #120, The Order of the Eastern Star, c/o Ms. Eva Lester, 3663 Highway 471, Brandon, MS 39047.
