Joan Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 13, 2013.

Joni died peacefully on the afternoon of October 11, 2013 after a brief fight with respiratory failure, which plagued her most of her adult life. She was surrounded by family and well cared for by Providence Hospice of Snohomish County and the medical staff at Swedish Edmonds.

She is preceded in death by her father James T (1957), mother Harriet M (2010) and older brother James "Skip" (1979).

Joni was born in Petaluma, California. At a very young age she moved with her family to Saudi Arabia where her father worked for ARAMCO. After her father's death, Joni and her mother returned to the Seattle area. Joni met some of her lifelong friends during the few years she lived in the Green Lake and Shoreline areas. She graduated from Shorecrest High School in 1965.

In 1981 Joni again moved to Saudi Arabia, this time with her husband Ross Morgan. They worked for the same company her father had so many years before. They retired from there in 1996 and returned to the United States.

Failing health kept Joni home much of the time but she enjoyed visits from children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys and brought her so much happiness.

She leaves behind her partner of over forty years, Ross, her children Steven (Kristina), Shelley (Dale), stepchildren Kim (Stan) and Shelley (Ben), as well as a multitude of Grandchildren.

It is very sad that Joni passed away, she was, and always be a good friend. She
had a heart of gold, a very kind person. I hope that all our fellow Aramco Brats share my sentiments about this wonderful person.
