John R. Burch, Jr, age 90, passed away December 6, 2014. John was born March 16, 1924 in Temple, Texas to John and Stella (Carter) Burch. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edwina Francis Burch; second wife, Dorothy Burch; son, James T. Burch; daughter, Brenda S. Martinez; son-in-law, Charles R. Trimble; two sisters and one brother. John is survived by his daughters, Doris Trimble of San Antonio; JoAnn Cedillo and husband Jimmy of Abilene; sons, John C. Burch and wife Janet of DeRidder, LA; Gary L. Burch and wife Micci of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Funeral services will be held 10am Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories. Burial with military honors will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
