BLUEFIELD – Juanita Davis Thacker. In the early morning hours of June 13, 2014, The Lord reached down his hand and said, "Nita, come home" and she left this earth to join her heavenly family.
Nita was born in Bluefield, WV, February 8, 1931 to Charles B. Davis and Pearl Lester Davis Allison. She lived most of her life in Bluefield and attended Bluefield schools. In 1948 she married the love of her life, Harry C. Thacker with whom she shared 60 years.
She was a member of Greenview United Methodist Church and had served many of her younger years as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader. She was active with the MYF and was a counselor at District Camp for several years. In later life she was active in the "Prime Timers" and really enjoyed the fellowship.
She was a homemaker and loved making candy and gardening. Her flowers were a real source of joy to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry and her step-father, Lofton Allison.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patsy Cox and Nancy Bailey(Steve) all of Bluefield. Grandchildren, Rhonda Bailey (Richard) of NC, Leslie Hurt (Les) of NC, Brian Cox of Bluefield and Shaun Bailey (Tabitha) of Richlands, VA. Twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Her brother, Charles B. Davis (Louise) of Pulaski, VA.
Per her wishes, there will be no public viewing. Interment service will be held at 2 pm, June 16 at Roselawn Mausoleum, Pastor Rick Chester officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greenview United Methodist Church, 600 Blue Prince Rd. or charity of choice.

Mrs. Thacker was such a lovely lady. I will miss my talks with her about her flowers and her giving me wonderful tasting recipes. She will be missed. You all are in our prayers.

So many happy memories at Nita's house. Christmas Eve eggnog and delicious candy. Hay rides with the youth group. So sorry for your loss, your mom was a wonderful lady. I am in a Florida so I won't be able to attend services, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Joyce Webster
