Kathleen Anne Butier Nalty or better known as Kay, formerly of San Jose California, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2014 at home with her husband by her side. Kathleen was born May 2, 1930 in Watsonville, California. Educated by the Sisters of Notre Dame, she graduated from Notre Dame High School, Watsonville in 1948 and pursued music and education at Dominican College in San Rafael California, and graduated from San Jose State University in 1952. Although a talented musician and elementary school teacher, the job she loved the most was that of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Kathleen was a loving and supportive spouse, and dedicated her entire life to creating a loving and happy home. Her example lives on in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by John Nalty, her husband of 61 years, and two of their three children Sean Nalty and Elaine Clark, her beloved daughters-in-law Carol and Margaret and her seven grandchildren, Caitlin and Nicole Nalty, Kathleen, John, Mary and Anne Clark, and John Paul Nalty. She is predeceased by her son Paul Nalty, her son in law, Scott Clark, her parents Nicolas and Catherine Butier, and her three siblings Sr. Paula Butier SND, Michael Butier and Loretta Butier Montana. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11AM at St. Gabriel Parish 914 Newfield Ave, Stamford. Burial will be private.
