Link Ellingson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 19, 2013.

Link was born on December 27, 1957 at McKinnon Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was the son of Bob and Marilyn. Link was raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Always at the ready with a good joke, he grew up to be quite a humorous person. Link was raised with two siblings. He had one older brother, Blake; a younger brother who predeceased him, Brad, and younger sister, Traci. Link graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975. Link generally did well in his courses. His favorite class in high school was Gym. In his senior year, Link and his teammates won state championships in football and basketball. On September 8, 1984 Link married Marie Theresa Erato at Assembly of God Church of Pahrump, Nevada. Link's skill at "building bridges" played an important role in his ability to make his new family happy. He was quite sensitive towards Marie's needs, showing his constant concern and fondness. Link was tenderhearted and sensitive, qualities that served him well in helping to nurture his family. Link was uplifted by new ideas and was excited by life's possibilities, traits that made him an exceptional worker. His primary occupation was Senior Marketing Director. He was employed for several years with the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, and On Demand Sedan. Because Link loved to have a broad variety of activities in his life, he took advantage of the opportunity to pursue numerous hobbies. His favorite pursuits were golfing, riding his motorcycle, and swimming. Though he never did anything solely for individual recognition, Link's ingenuity, resourcefulness, and selflessness, earned him accolades for his many lifelong efforts. Some of his most prestigious awards included" Million Dollar Sales" Award. Link Ellingson passed away on December 15, 2013 at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his lovely bride, Marie; brother, Blake; sister, Traci; eight nieces and nephews, and two great nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members. Services were held at Canyon Ridge Christian Church. Link was laid to rest in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Marie, my older brother and I used to be Link's little step-brothers. I was very young but I remember how good he was to us and we always looked up to him too... in him playing sports and basketball at Lincoln H.S. I live in Henderson now but was born in Sioux Falls and lived with my mom and Bob when my mom re-married. I'm sure Link had mentioned us maybe to you. Call me or let me know you receive this.

Link, I was so blessed to have known you. We could not speak for months, yet when we did, it was like it was yesterday. I miss you very much my friend. Richard and I still reminisce about the "pool shooting days" and all the laughs we all shared. You were one special person and you will be sorely missed.
