Lois, born June 18, 1934 in Delaware, Ohio to Paul and Helen Winstel, passed away May 28, 2014 at the age of 79. Lois graduated from nurse’s training at C&O Hospital in Clifton Forge, Virginia in 1955. She became an RN in Ohio. She married James “Jim” Greshel in 1955 and earned a PHT (Put Hubby through) for his last year in college. In June 1957 she began an adventure of 28 years as a Military wife in the U.S Air Force. She with her family lived in 26 different houses, ten states and four countries (Philippines, Taiwan, Japan and Puerto Rico). On each base where she lived she was a volunteer leader in chapel youth programs, Protestant Women programs and taught Sunday school.
She was an active volunteer leader in Brownie and Girl Scout programs. She used her nurses training to volunteer for duty in base hospitals. All while raising three children and often alone due to her husband’s frequent deployments as a USAF Pilot. As the children grew, she became active as a leader in Christian Women’s Fellowship in Ohio and Michigan. In 2000, Lois was commissioned as a staff member with Association of Christion Conferences and Service (ACCTS). Traveling to foreign countries such as Mongolia, South Korea, Great Britain, Latvia, Australia and seventeen of the nineteen Caribbean nations to encourage and teach members of the national police and military how to form and develop their national Military Christian Fellowship (MCF). Lois was truly a giant of faith and a great Prayer Warrior.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Jim, children, Ted (Laurel) Greshel, Terrie Greshel and Tammy (Bill) Higgins; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by her sister Carol (Frank) Mertz

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Rd. Lansing, MI 48911 on June 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.
