Houston, TX – Lieutenant Mark Armand Beaulieu, Ret. age 67, died on June 16, 2020 of a heart attack, after battling a non COVID – 19 related illness.
Mark is survived by his wife, Mary, two children: Anna Post (James) and A.J. Beaulieu. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Caleb Sharkey and Cara Sharkey.
Mark is a U.S. Navy Veteran whose long career included service in the Vietnam War. He was born on July 17, 1952 and grew up in La Crescenta, California, with his two sisters, Linda, and Reinee. He was the youngest child of Armand Beaulieu and Lou Fay Card. Mark had a keen interest in mechanics and pursued this passion as a Machinist Mate, later earning his Mechanical Engineering Degree. He achieved his lifelong dream of serving on a Battleship when he was stationed on the USS New Jersey, BB-62. Mark retired after 22 years of service in the Navy and went on to have a successful career in the Power Industry. Mark earned his Masters Degree in Sustainable Energy, at the age of 60.
Mark loved to travel. He and Mary were able to go on the trip of a lifetime, last June, to Spain and Italy. He enjoyed fishing, shooting and wood working. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great story-teller. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and watching his grandchildren grow up.
The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Navy never left him.
Services will be held for Mark at 1pm on July 9, 2020 at St. Edith Stein Catholic Church in Katy, TX. His ashes will be interred in Willamette National Cemetary in Portland, OR at a later date.

Mark and I first became friends in Junior High, more than 50 years ago. I tell my kids that they may not realize it now, but the friends they make in school may become lifelong friends and I hope they have friends like Mark. His wonderful wit, commitment to family, and true friendship will be sorely missed.

I am very sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I worked with him for many years in the power generation industry. I spent the better part of a year in Australia with he and his family as we started-up various gas turbine power generation plants. I will remember him for his kind heart, positive attitude, adventurous spirit and unwavering integrity. He was a man of honor, justice and fairness. If he made a commitment, he would honor it. He did that for me and I shall never forget that lesson. I am a better person for having known and worked with Mark. My most sincere condolences to Mary, Anna and A.J.

I once read that the good friends we make in our school days will likely become our best friends forever. How true. Mark was a large part of a small group of school buddies that have remained close for over fifty years. His always-present sense of humor was razor-sharp and he could punctuate any topic or story with a clever wit that made it his own. He was bright, affable, and a steadfast friend. I will always remember Mark with a warm smile, a chuckle, and a deep gratitude for having known him.
Dalene and I send our heartfelt condolences.

Mark and I worked together for several years, always the most straight up person with no pretenses. Thanks for the great times in Australia and all around Asia.

From elementary school, when we first became friends, Mark always had a place in my heart. Until we meet again. Thanks for the memories.
