Mrs. Marguerite Gunter Kelley, age 81 of Griffin, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Kelley was born January 26, 1933 to the late R.M. Gunter and the late Mattie Jewel Young Gunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thomas Kelley, Sr., son, John Robert Hoard and brothers, Sonny and Larry Gunter. Mrs. Kelley retired after almost 30 years of service at Best Manufacturing. Mrs. Kelley loved playing Bingo at the VFW and the Moose Lodge and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include sons & daughter-in-law, Everett Dwight Hoard, Willie Thomas "Tommy" & Cathy Kelley; daughter & son-in-law, Pamela K. & Alan Ray; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Gunter Cochran and Mary Gunter and special caregivers, Shirley Dixson, John Moore.

The family would like to thank Brightmoor Hospice, Help at Home, Meals on Wheels and Mowing With A Meaning for their loving care of Mrs. Kelley.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marguerite Gunter Kelley will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

How very sorry I am to hear of your mother's passing. (We were out of town last week and just returned) I wish I had the right words, just know I care and I am here to help any way I can.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad and difficult time.
