Maria Teresa Sanchez de González
Maria Teresa Sanchez de González was born July 31, 1918 to the union of Felicitas and Francisco Sanchez in Lamadrid, Coahuila, Mexico. Maria Teresa spent some of her childhood in Cuidad Acuña, Mexico where she went to a grade school named Colegio Obregon and where she very joyfully and proudly learned to play the cello and participated with a small orchestra, la Tipica; she later also studied at Academia Comericial Elliott in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico.
Maria Teresa was briefly married to Juan Dueñas and they were blessed with a beautiful little girl, Lupe! She later married Ismael E. González in June of 1960 in Torréon, Mexico. Maria Teresa and her family eventually moved to the US, residing in Illinois. She was excited to come to the US, experience a new country, learn English and became a US citizen in 1999.
Maria Teresa was employed by La Mutualidad Agricola in the accounting department for a number of years. In her leisure, she enjoyed playing the cello, breeding canaries and Pekingese dogs. Maria Teresa was very fond of birds and especially cats. She excelled at embroidery, knitting, crocheting, baking, drawing and spoiling Lupe!
Maria Teresa loved the Lord greatly and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. She continued to serve Him faithfully until He called her home. Maria Teresa Sanchez de González departed this life on April 21, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Ismael E. González, her brothers Napoleon, Eleazar and Francisco, her sister Lupe and her loving parents, Felicitas and Francisco.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter, Lupe Dueñas; nephews, Francisco (Ana) Sanchez, Hector (Lourdes) Sanchez, Jose Manuel (Lupe) Sanchez, nieces, Hermila (Jose) Sanchez de Villarreal, Rosie (Elpidio) Rodriguez, along with many friends and her "family" of caregivers at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, WI.
I'd like to express my most sincere gratitude to all my friends, neighbors, the Hispanic Fellowship and the Woman to Woman Team. I will also always be grateful to my mom's "family" of caregivers at Lasata Care Center for the care and love they gave my mom during her years at Lasata.
In lieu of flowers, memorials gratefully received in Maria Teresa's name by Advocates of Ozaukee, "working to end domestic violence and sexual abuse"; P.O. Box 80166, Saukville, WI 53080.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Thursday May 2, 2013 at Eastbrook Church, 5385 N Green Bay Ave, Milwuakee, WI 53209. Maria Teresa's daughter, Lupe, will greet attendees from 5 PM until time of the service.

Dear Lupe,
I know that the Lord will carry you through this difficult time with His love and healing grace. You have been such a good daughter to your mom and I know that she now watches over you as you did for her in these last months. Although it is hard to think of at this time, the blessing is that you two will be together again one day when our Father calls us home. Love to you my sister, Gail

Dear Lupe,
I was so honored to bring communion to your mother once a month. She was such a lovely lady, and so patient with my very poor 8th grade spanish! I will miss her and her gentle nature.
Peace and comfort of lovely memories,
Chris Johansen
