Maria Angela Singleton, 94, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, after a long and courageous battle with dementia. Born in Marzano Appio, Italy on June 20,1924, Maria moved with her family to Providence, Rhode Island at the age of seven. She was a resident of Las Vegas for the past 50 years, working as a hairdresser and volunteering to preach to those in need.
Her generous heart to share God's word took her to numerous events and charities throughout the years, however, her greatest accomplishments were her 20-year ministry with the prisoners at High Desert State Prison and the Florence McClure Women's Correctional Center, serving as president for Women's Aglow International, and chairperson of National Day of Prayer.
Preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Jenny (Tacelli) DiRobbio and sister, Ida Castrignano of Rhode Island, Maria is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Russo, and son, Steve Casino, both of Las Vegas, as well as granddaughters Gia (Peter) Russo-Levin, Nicole Crawford, and Lisa Lucchesi, four great-grandsons and two great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas.

Maria was such an inspiring woman of faith. She was the driving force behind the National Day of Prayer events in Las Vegas for many years, and she had an amazing prison ministry. She will be missed by a great many people. On a personal note, she and her daughter Cheryl were so kind to me when my sister passed away from cancer. Their kindness is something I'll never forget. God bless Maria and her entire family.
