Many years ago, God smiled on me and gave me a childhood friend for a sister in law. He smiled again, and said, "I will also give you her as one of your best friends and she has been that for over fifty years! We ate out together, made dreaded trips to the doctor together, shopped for groceries together, visited family together and talked on the phone together and shared our most private thoughts to each other.
She was an example of strength to me. And that strength came from her relationship with her Lord and Savior. Life handed her some tough times but she responded with dignity and grace.
She raised four beautiful children who were her pride and joy as well they should be! In turn, they took such loving and kind care or her during the last several months of her illness and she told me many times how much she loved them and how blessed she was to have them.
God Bless you Billy, David, Kim and Mark with great memories of you Mom that will comfort you in the days ahead.

Many years ago, God smiled on me and gave me a childhood friend for a sister in law! Then he smiled again and said, "I will give her this sister in law as one of her best friends as well" and He did! And that is how it has been for over fifty years! I cannot remember ever going more than three or four days at a time without us talking on the phone. We have eaten out together, went to those dreaded doctor appointments together and shopped for groceries together and told each other things that we would never share with anyone else. She never showed bitterness about the hand that life dealt to her and was a model of strength to me! Her strength came from her relationship with her Lord! He was her strength !
She raised four beautiful children and they were her pride and joy as well they should be! And in turn, they took wonderful care of her in these last difficult months. She was well blessed to have them and told me that many times! She was a sister in law by marriage but was my sister in heart! I rejoice for the privilege of knowing her! I will miss her until we meet again!
