Michael Hess, age 55, a resident of Madge Twp, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Spooner Health System.
Michael Anthony Hess was born on February 13, 1958, in Janesville, Wisconsin to parents Virgil and Barbara (Allar) Hess. During his senior year of high school, he worked at the Birchwood Manufacturing Plant. After graduation, he went to work with his brothers for Laborers International for 30+ years and was a member of the Local 317 in Eau Claire. As a way to be closer to home, he went to Truck Driver's school and drove on and off road truck until his health forced him to retire. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, especially ice fishing, spending time with family, and entertaining his nieces and nephews.
Michael is survived by his mother Barbara of Sarona, WI, brothers: John (Roseann) Hess of Duluth, MN, Jack Hess of Sarona, WI, Joe (Melissa) Hess of Sarona, WI, sisters: Patricia (Dale) Vaughn of Barron, WI, Linda (Fred) Geisdorf of Long Lake, WI, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Michael is preceded in death by his father Virgil.
A memorial service for Michael Hess will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at 2pm, at the Dahl Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Dunshee officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-2pm. A spring inurnment will be held at the Earl Cemetery.
