In Loving Memory of our dear beloved husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, friend, teacher, comedian, actor, writer, "comrade-in-arms", champion, enthusiast, advocate, defender, ally, helper and lover of life Michael Joseph Mangarella. May his memory be but a blessing.
Many of you already know that Michael passed away over the weekend. It happened so suddenly and tragically, a fall which caused irreparable head trauma. We had hoped for a miracle but we weren't to be blessed. It seems so unbelievable that he is gone, that we can't hear his laughter, jokes, insights, and words of wisdom. His passing has taught us that life is fleeting. We have to treasure what we have at the moment, for tomorrow it may be gone. Even in death, Michael would have loved to have known that at the hospital, two doors down the hall, was Tracy Morgan, a fellow comedian. They could have shared a laugh or two.
Knowing Michael we want to celebrate his life, as he would have done, with a shot of Jack Daniels or a pint of beer telling jokes and capturing your attention. This "Celebration of Michael Mangarella" is taking place on Thursday, June 19th, starting at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home in Old Bridge, NJ, from 2 to 5 PM, followed by food and drink at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Spotswood, till 8 PM. Please join us, come let us know how Michael made a difference in your life. Let us know stories filled with laughter. Share them with others at our service for Michael.
For those interested in making a contribution in memory of Michael Mangarella, we have chosen the NJ Sharing Network Foundation:

I miss you. There is a hole in my heart that nothing can fill. You told me one day I would really want to hear your voice and it wouldn't be there. I need you to laugh again. I wish I had the chance to look into your eyes and tell you what I feel and to say goodbye to my shining star. I will always love you, sandy

The world is lessened by the loss of Mike's lightening quick assessment of situations that are so ridiculous, they are hilarious. I feel this loss and bid Mike a heartfelt Bon Voyage.
