She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Rosie Phillips.
Mildred worked for BASF Corporation in shipping and receiving. She graduated from Bald Creek High School in Burnsville, NC. She loved to grow vegetable gardens, can produce, and pick strawberries at Marston’s Farm on Rt. 60 W. Mildred also sewed quilts and loved to cook for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Davis, Jr., son, Rodney E. Diehl and his wife, Kate; daughter, Teresa A. Diehl; and grandchildren, Megan and Kelsey.

She suffered from the debilitating complications of diabetes for several years, and the crippling condition of arthritis. We believe that she is now free from pain and with loved ones who have gone before her. We will miss her, we will always love her, and we will continue to honor her.
