Nicholas Auletta Obituary

Nick Auletta died Friday, February 08, 2013 in Pelham Manor, NY in his home. Born on January 27th, 1933, in the Bronx, NY to parents, Egidio and Pauline Auletta, he was the oldest of the two brothers (Paul Auletta). He married Rose Troiano on August 30th, 1953. After a brief time in Washington State, while Nick served as a Sergeant in the US Army as a medic during the Korean war, they returned to the Bronx NY and together raised 6 children. Nick was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Rose Auletta of 35 years. Nick is survived by his six children, Paula (Billy) Falconio, Lori (Robert) Anzilotti, Gail (Patrick) Wulf, Tracy (Ron) Thiers, Nicki (Tim) Foley, and Joseph (Maureen) Auletta, and 16 grandchildren, Lauren Mitrione, Nicole Giannone, Billy Falconio Jr., Christina, Paula, and Robert Anzilotti Jr., John Kritch Jr. Jaqueline Rose Sorenson, Nicholas Auletta, Christopher Hackett, Jillian, Regina, Shannon Foley, Faith, J. J. and Evie-Rose Auletta, and 4 great grand children. Nicholas is also survived by his Aunt Irene Auletta, and many cousins.
Nick was known to his friends to love his time on the golf course. He was a member of Winged Foot Golf Club and a past member of the Pelham CC and New York Athletic Club. During his life, he was an active member and supported of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor, NY. He was the chairman of the Pelham Republican Party. He was a former president of the Pelham Civic Association and was awarded their "Man of the Year," in the 1980's. He went on to become a benefactor of the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital Rosebud Balls. Nick and Rose together, raised over one million dollars in just a few years time for St. Jude CRH. Along with raising a loving family, Nick was most proud of his community work. Nick was a model to his friends and family demonstrating his incredible work ethic while he created and worked for his successful company, S & A Concrete Inc.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105. Visitiation will be on Tuesday, February 12th 7:00-9:00 pm, Wednesday, February 13th 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 14th 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Entombment Woodlawn Cemetery.
