Someone introduced me at Pat's visitation as "her Pastor's wife". Yes, I was, but Pat was more than a member of our church, she was my friend. I have so many memories of her and reminders of her part in my life as I go about my ordinary routines. When I went to get a jacket out of our coat closet to go to the hospital the night/morning she was passing, I saw the scarf she gave me at Christmas. When I drove past Regency Mall tonight, I looked over and saw Belk, remembering the gift card in my wallet from a birthday that I still need to use! In my purse is a little bag for my glasses that is part of a set she gave me. Pat was a giver and cared so much about others, whether by giving materially, of her time, or just asking a zillion questions about how everyone in your life was and how every situation was going. I will treasure all of our times driving to and from the church, chatting like a bunch of college roommates! Please tell Pat I love her, God, and keep her safe in your arms until we all meet again <3

Maybe it was the Brit in her, but Pat Bridges possessed a regal countenance and grace, even during the trials and tribulations of her recent illnesses, that I have rarely encountered during my lifetime. The memory of her sweet smile and sparkling blue eyes will warm my heart forever. How lucky I was to have known her. How lucky Travis was to have her in his life all these years. –Billee Bussard
