Ronald Ackermann Obituary

Ron departed from this earth peacefully to the Lord's home in heaven on Thursday May 15, 2014 at the age of 80. He is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Koch) of 44 years, brothers Roy (Mary) and Carl (Choey), sister Linda, children Mike, Kellie (Beverly), Bob, Peggi (Gary) Hoerter, Ron (Julie), and 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ron was born May 10, 1934 in Cedar Grove, WI as the second of 4 children born to Melita and Louis Ackermann. Ron graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1952, where he was active in band, played sports, and attended scout camps and Badger Boys State. In 1956, he graduated Hope College in Holland, MI. He completed Army training at Fort Gordon Georgia before returning to Madison, WI for additional college coursework. He was hired from college by the Froedtert Malt Corporation, where he worked for 44 years, retiring as Executive Vice President in 2001. In May of 2006, Ron was recognized as a member of the "Fifty-Year Circle" by the Hope College Alumni Association. Ron and his wife Betty enjoyed their retirement by traveling, golfing, being active in the church, and attending various social events near their homes in Wauchula, FL and Cedarburg, WI.

Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at St. Francis Borgia Church-South, N44 W6055 Hamilton Rd, Cedarburg, WI 53012. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass and at a reception to be held afterwards. Special thanks to the staff of Horizon Hospice for the compassionate they gave Ron. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, appreciated.
