Ruby Marie Benson was ushered into the presence of the Lord on December 9, 2010.
Ruby was born on February 5, 1920 in Moorhead, Minesota. She was adopted in love at the age of 5 months by John and Eva Beauchamp. She had one brother, Allister. Most of her young life was spent on a farm in Frazee, Minnesota. She began work at the Becker Courthouse as an agriculture clerk. Ruby was married to John Benson at the age of 20; they spent many years farming in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They later moved to Auburn, Washington where she retired from Boeing after spending 30 years as a lead inventory clerk. She was active at Grace Community Church in Auburn and lived in service to her family and friends. During their lifetime, they raised 5 children: Janet (Jack) Kain of Puyallup, WA; Paul (Kathy) Benson of Lake Chelan, WA; Carol (Randy) DenAdel Mesa, AZ; John (Vicki) of Asotin, WA; and Judy (Bill) Douglas of Vancouver, WA. She dearly loved her 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, John, after more than 50 years of marriage.
In honor of her parents who adopted her at the age of 5 months, she would like any memorials to go to Antioch Bible Church Non-profit Adoption Ministry, PO Box 2273, Redmond, WA 98073. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday December 15, 2010 at Price-Helton Funeral Home, 702 Auburn Way N Auburn, WA 98002

So very sorry to hear about Ruby's passing. She was a very wonderful, wonderful woman. Always a very giving person and very interested in her family and others. There are nothing but fond memories of her and her many visits to Detroit Lakes with Uncle John. How wonderful that she now sees Jesus face to face as well as being reunited with many, many loved ones.

We are so sorry to hear about Ruby's passing. Ruby was such a wonderful lady. She was always warm and loving. When Jim and I moved into the neighborhood, John and Ruby brought a warm pie to welcome us. We began giving new neighbors freshly made baked goods too. We felt very fortunat to have Ruby and John across the street. With Love, Jim and Becky Ferguson

To Ruby's family:
My deepest sympathy to each of you. You were blessed with a wonderful mother. My memories begin at the farm in Detroit Lakes. They continue to times together at the Benson reunions. My times with Ruby were short and too infrequent but still they are very good memories. Ruby was a joy to know and I am proud to be her nephew.

Rich, rich memories are flooding my mind right now ... Ruby lived life so well, and made all of our family know that we were much loved. What a gift she was to us! We miss her, but also are so pleased that she is with the Lord and in her heavenly home with John and so many other wonderful family and friends. We are blessed by the John and Ruby Benson family! Love to you all, Steve Hoffman (for Lynn, Chris and Britta, and Alyssa and Ryan and Miles)
