Sherman V. Able Sr. 98, of Louisville, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010. He was born July 15, 1912 in Louisville, KY to the late Frank J. Able Sr. and Edith Marie Heil Able.

He was a retired engineer for Jeff Boat Co. He was a member of South Park Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Bender Able, his brother and wife; Frank M. & Marcella Bender Able, and his sister; Aileen Zimmerman.

He is survived by his two sons; Sherman V. Able Jr. (Mary Lou), and Dennis K. Able (Marcella), 6 grandchildren; Kevin Able, Karen Haycraft, Corey Able, Jim Glass, Shannon Cahill, and Matthew Cassin. He had 10 great-grandchildren; Cody Able, Jacob Able, Emerson Haycraft, Grayson Haycraft, Samuel Haycraft, Lilly Glass, Reid Glass, Carter Glass, Katlyn Baker, and Sophia Cahill.

A service to celebrate Sherman's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady Russman & Sons Funeral Home, 1201 E. Oak Street, with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 p.m.
