Lincoln Southeast High School in 1963 and the University of Nebraska in 1967. Tom was the
oldest of three children born to Lee and Elsie Reents. Tom was united in marriage to Carol Ann
Chandler on April 16, 1966. Their marriage was based on mutual devotion and their love is
never-ending. They would have been married 50 years next April.

Tom had a way of making people laugh and was always willing to share his wisdom. Tom
loved his family and dogs very much.
Tom had a unique spirit that was both boundless and grounded at the same time which allowed
him to be successful in everything he did. Tom had life long friends that enjoyed trips to his
beloved farm, rounds of golf and even weekly coffee with his high school gang. Tom was an
amazing husband, father and he loved being a grandfather to his three grandchildren. Memories
of Tom are unlimited and include his sense of humor, passion, loyalty and his famous grilled
pork-chops at the farm cooked on his one-of-a-kind engineered grill.
Tom was a successful business man and happily retired from his insurance consulting company.
Family came first to Tom and he will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.
Survivors include his wife Carol; children Scott (Donna) of Louisville, KY, Greg of Denver, CO;

Carol and Family. I am really sad to hear of Tom's passing. I met Tom for the first time when IRES was getting started. I always enjoyed his mischievous antics and in fact looked forward to them. He was always someone I looked forward to seeing at meetings. I will miss him. You are in our prayers.

Having met Tom at a Chicago Bears football game, I saw his echoes in many ways in my work with Scott. The sparkle in his eyes which would give way to a clever and funny comment, the integrity and capability woven throughout the daily interactions. My prayers are with all of you as you mourn your great loss and celebrate the gifts that Tom gave you throughout his life.
