I have known Vernon for 70 years and remember Vernon working as a butcher on the corner of 15th St. and Superior Ave at a small grocery run by John Bensman. He was always polite and friendly with all that had the pleasure of meeting Vernon. The friendly Vernon latter in life became a Walmart greeter and was an asset to that firm with his friendly greeting and smile.
