I've known Fred (Walter) and his wife for several years. A group of us used to meet for breakfast at McDonald's for several years. The only time women were there was if there was a birthday. My husband did not drive so every day I took him to meet "the guys" and I sat at another table. One day someone said there was no reason for me to do that so I was invited to join the guys and Fred was one of them. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He never said anything bad about anyone. He had a beautiful smile and a soft heart. One day an ant was crawling across the table and I reached out and smushed him. Fred had a fit and told me every living creature has a right to life. He took our crumbs home to feed the squirrels. Fred was a special person and he will be missed.
