Adam Badowski, 70, Machesney Park, passed away on September 18, 2013 in Rockford. He was born on August 6, 1943 in Poland to Antoni and Magdziak (Boleslawa) Badowski. He and his family came to the United States when he was a young child.
He married Judy Buchmann in 1962 and later remarried Deb Schreiber in 1977.
Adam worked for many years as a grocery store manager at A&P Supermarkets, Pic –N-Save and Roundy's. He had a passion for woodworking and was known for his meticulous craftsmanship. He took great pleasure in building things for family and friends.
He is survived by both former wives; Judy and Deb; children, Kathy (Jeff) Beaver and Kristin Zajac; grandchildren Justin Beaver and Ryan Beaver; siblings Ed (Cheryl) Badowski, Barb (Carl) Kappen, Regina Gering and Helen Badowski ; and several nieces and nephews.
Adam is preceded in death by his parents and a brother; John Badowski.
Funeral service will be at 10:00am, Monday, September 23, 2013 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford. Reverend Ron Meyer will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
