Agnes Baj, 81, of East Stroudsburg, passed away early Saturday morning July 14, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House, Smithfield Twp.
Born in Wierzawice, Poland on February 26, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John and Maria Grabarz. Agnes graduated from the Wierzawice school system and relocated to Queens, NY with her family in 1968 where she proudly became a US citizen. Agnes moved to the Poconos in 1988 where she enjoyed her home, family, and nature.
She was a meticulous house wife, who loved to cook, and work in her garden. Agnes also enjoyed walking in East Stroudsburg and socializing with the people she met. Her most precious joy was her family. She adored her son Chris, and was known as Babci to her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Baj, who died on June 1, 2009.
Surviving is her son, Christopher Baj and his wife Mia of East Stroudsburg; daughter, Barbara Baj of New York; grandchildren, Natalie, Kristina, and Jake of East Stroudsburg, and Richie of New York.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg.
A public visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
