Alma Jean Bell

September 10, 1925 - April 10, 2011
Alma Jean Bell, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister returned to her heavenly home Sunday, April 10, 2011. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 West Poplar Avenue, in Collierville. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, at First Presbyterian Church of Okmulgee, OK. She will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. Alma was born September 10, 1925 to the late Lester and Blanche Harris in Muskogee, OK. She married William "Bill" Bell on August 13, 1951, and together they moved to Okmulgee in August 1953. Mrs. Bell was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. Alma had a strong faith in God and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Okmulgee where she taught children's Sunday school for many years. After her children were grown, she worked at OSU Technical School until her retirement. Those who knew Alma will forever remember her as a loving and caring person, always willing to help. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Bell, and grandson, Kyle Johns. Alma is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Anderson of Lewisville, Texas; her two sons, William "Bill" II and wife Jan of Collierville, Tennessee, Randy and wife Patti of Fort Meyers, Florida; her daughter, Brenda Johns of Bedford, Texas; and four grandchildren, Ryan Bell of Atlanta, Georgia, Jason Bell and wife Tina of Collierville, Tennessee, Cameron Bell of Fort Meyers, Florida, and Kelly Johns of Temecula, California.
