CATAHOULA –A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Amelia "Louloon" Courville Borel, age 88, at 11:00 am on Monday, February 28, 2011 at St. Rita's Catholic Church. Fr. Ed Degeyter and Fr. Richard Fabre will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm at the Dion Hall in Catahoula. Visitation will resume at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.
A native of St. Martinville and resident of Catahoula, Mrs. Borel passed away at 1:35 am on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Belle Teche Nursing Home.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Bourque of Morgan City; Gail Segura and husband Larry and Dot Romero and husband Robert all of New Iberia; eight grandchildren, Myron Bourque; Vaughn Bourque; Kelly Vaughn; Wendy Segura; Robert Romero, II; Chad Segura; Warren Segura and Joseph "Joey" Segura; sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Borel; parents, August and Amelia D. Courville; four brothers, Theobald, Ozema, Alexson and August Courville; two sisters, Mrs. Evans Cormier and Mrs. Chervit Legrand and her son in law, Oscar Bourque, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Waren Segura, Chad Segura, Robert Romero, II, Juan Segura, Myron Bourque and Vaughn Bourque.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Segura, Larry Segura, Scott Segura, Robert Romero, Brooks Bourque, Rylan Rogers, Jed Segura, Jacob Segura, Jon Segura and Seth Segura.
