Andrew F. Faitak, 66, of New Fairfield, CT and North Myrtle Beach, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Leslie Schultz Faitak.
Born in Newburgh, NY, he was a son of the late Andrew and Josephine Zamenick Faitak. He was a 1964 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. Andy then served with the US Air Force. An Operational Vice President with PSK Foodtown, he retired in 2008. Andy was a former District Sales Manager in the Tri-State area for Grand Union for over 40 years. He had been a New Fairfield resident for over 25 years. Andy was an avid boater and Yankees fan. He enjoyed softball, bowling and golf.
Known to his loving grandchildren as "Pa", Andy will be deeply missed by them and his beloved children as well as many other family members and friends. Besides his wife, survivors include his sons: Joe of New Milford, CT and Ken and his wife, Tracy, of New Windsor, NY. His daughters: Debi Coniglio-Kilcourse of New Fairfield and Sue Lyden and her husband, Sean, of New Fairfield. His grandchildren: Ceara and Autumn Faitak, Anthony Faitak, Jessie, Tessa and Jay Kilcourse, Rebecca, Emma and Jack Lyden. His sister: Joanne Faitak of Newburgh, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1pm at St. Edward Church, New Fairfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4pm to 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
