Ann Graddy Jackson
On April 18, 2012, Ann Graddy Jackson passed away peacefully at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Mrs. Jackson was born August 10, 1930, in Ecru, Mississippi, to Sumner Austin Graddy and Elizabeth Johnson Graddy. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Blue Mountain College and later the Master of Education from the University of Mississippi. A beloved teacher for thirty years in the Columbus and Ecru school systems, she was married to the late William Haskell Jackson of Columbus in 1988, living until 2005 when she relocated to Brandon, Mississippi. A devoted member of Pinelake Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi, she looked forward to attending service each Sunday.
She was eagerly awaited in heaven by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her three children: Carol Ann (Denny) Gray of D'Iberville, Mississippi; Gary Richardson of Brandon, Mississippi; and Danny (Cindy) Richardson of Brandon, Mississippi. She is also survived by her siblings, Dale Erwin Graddy of Collierville, Tennessee; Helen Graddy Thomas of Emporia, Kansas; and Fann Graddy Bost of Amory, Mississippi; was "Mom-Mom" to 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and "Nantie" to 40 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc, Mississippi, on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 9:00 a.m., and the celebration of her homegoing at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at the Ecru Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Bost, Stuart Mackenzie, Jimmy Humphrey, Jeff Conner, Morgan Stewart and Nat Grubbs.
