Mrs. Annelle Snellgrove Barnes, 101, formerly of Woodcrest Drive, Rome, GA, passed away Wednesday evening, May 11, 2011, at a local health care facility.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Rome on April 7, 1910, the daughter of the late Oliver Thomas Snellgrove and Lillie Jones Snellgrove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewey Sahlberg.
Mrs. Barnes was associated with Fahy's Department Store as a salesperson many years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a cousin, the Rev. Warren L. Jones, Rome, and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home, Rome, with Dr. Joel Snider and Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating. Interment will be in the Myrtle Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Warren L. Jones officiating.
The family received friends at Daniel's Funeral Home on Saturday, May 14, 2011, from 10 until 11 a.m.
