Annie L. Stewart Barrentine, of Birmingham went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 23, 2012. She passed at the age of 90 after a long illness and was a member of Millbrook First Baptist Church. Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd F. Barrentine (Retired Air Force). Her parents George and Nellie Stewart; three brothers: Lester Stewart, Vester Stewart (Banny) and Howard Stewart; two sisters: Irene (Coy) Fountain and Josephine (Red) Gray. She is survived by her sister Virginia (Bob) Sinkovich. She and her husband were blessed with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several great great nieces and nephews. It was always such a treat to visit them and enjoy one of her great meals. The family wishes to thank the longtime caregivers for taking such good care of her: Donna Harris, Monika Harris and Linda Mangina. The family also wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at Gentiva Hospice, especially Hospice RN Sherri, Hospice Pastor Bro. John Adams, social workers Jackie and Christy and the lady that held it all together on the phone, Sadie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Gentiva Hospice. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with very casual dress. Private burial will be in Jasper officiated by Bro. John Adams.
