Anthony A. Acquaviva, 88, of West Belmar, NJ crossed over into eternal peace on Monday, January 31, 2011, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Hoboken, NJ, formerly of Spring Lake, NJ before moving to West Belmar.
Tony was a World War II veteran, serving in the 101st Combat Engineer Battalion and General Patton's Third Army. His 26th Division received a commendation for their efforts in the war.
He retired from General Foods Company, Maxwell House Division in April 1979 after serving as supervisor for 35 years.
He is predeceased by his son, Frank "Franco" Acquaviva. Surviving are his wife Dorothy "Diane" Acquaviva, his daughters Dorothy Acquaviva of Lake Como, Adelaide Acquaviva of Bradley Beach, NJ, and two sons, granddaughter, Andrea Hoefling of Bradley Beach, NJ and many more grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
