Antonio Carrejo born October 15, 1924 to Pedro and Dolores Carrejo, Smeltertown, Texas passed away on February 10, 2014 in El Paso, Texas.
He joined the United States Army in May of 1943 at Fort Bliss, Texas. He served a tour in Central Europe as an antiaircraft gunner. He was the recipient of an Eagle Campaign Medal with two bronze stars for heroism. He left the service in January of 1946.
He worked for Graham Paper Company, Jim Walter Papers, and Butler Paper and retired after 47 years of service and received an award for dedication of service and friendship to his fellow employees.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carmen; daughter, Sandra Vasquez; sons, David and Victor Carrejo.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Veronica Carrejo, Jaime Carrejo, Jennette Tapia, Selena Tapia, Ana Vasquez, Anthony Vasquez, Mattew Vasquez, and Raquel Vasquez.
Services will be officiated by Joel Arroyo, Anthony Vasquez, Mattew Vasquez, and Sandra Vasquez.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Drive. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 7:30 am at Martin Funeral Home West with Interment immediately following at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
