Antonio Sauro, 84, of Camillus, passed away Sunday May 4, 2014 at the Syracuse VA Medical Center. He was born in Solvay to the late Leonard and Maria (DiDarrio) Sauro and graduate of Vocational High School. He served with the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Antonio was an appliance repairman, owning and operating Anthony's Appliance Service in Syracuse for over 20 years before retiring. He was an avid bowler, golfer and had a passion for cooking. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was most important to him.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Shirley (Michael) Frye, of Carrollton, TX and Stacey Sauro, of Liverpool, a son; Scott Sauro, of Camillus, 4 grandchildren; Jason and Justin Thurston, Tony Frye and Isabella Sauro, 3 sisters; Antoinette Garcia, of Solvay, Lena Pascarella, of Syracuse and Natalie Davis, of Springfield, MA, a brother; John Sauro, of Lakeland and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday May 8, 2014 at 10:00 am at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay. Entombment will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call Wednesday May 7, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
