Arnold and I have been friends for many years from our days at Hardy Jr. High, Provine, and Ole Miss. Some of our best shared memories were made at Provine, especially as members of the Provine Band. We kept in touch over the years in our professional careers, and he was always such a fun person and good friend. It was a joy to know him. I am saddened by his passing and extend heartfelt symphathy to his family.

Just found out about Arnold's passing. I played many gigs with Arnold. He was truly a great trumpet player and even a better person. I always had a blast when Arnold was on the gig.

We were at Provine together and shared classes. What a character and the best at playing trumpet in the band! He was also one of the sweetest people ever. He will be missed.

Arnold was a super friend, neighbor, and musician. I remember when we were at a Marsalis concert, Marsalis horn broke. Marsalis asked ... does anyone in the audience have a trumpet, otherwise the concert's over. Arnold, of course, had his trumpet in the trunk of his car, and the remainder of the concert was great. Arnold got to meet and visit with Marsalis after the concert. What a man!!!! Carolyn Blood

Only found today (2-18) about Arnold's passing. He was one fine musician even as a young man. He played trumpet in The Esquires rock-n-roll band in Jackson for 3 years while at Provine. We all enjoyed our time on stage with him. "Hoppy" Bennett, Hattiesburg

I spent many a summer day pitching the baseball with Arnold, living a few doors down on Alta Vista, our neighborhood was full of good energy. everyone played even at night we were in the street doing something, catching fireflies, riding bikes. Great time. I remember the time Arnold hit his first home run at the stadium behind the Boy's Club. I'm glad we were able to reconnect on Facebook, even for a short time. Thanks Arnold, it was my pleasure. Peace.

I was so sadden to hear of Arnold's passing. Recently I had the opportunity to view his video on his work at the north Jackson pharmacy. It showed his sweet and giving self! I wish I was able to come to Jackson for the funeral, but I cannot. I let David and Tandi (Puckett) know that Arnold had died. Please except my deepest sympathy.

I had the pleasure of being a student teacher in Miss Ruth Tucker's 7th grade math class at Hardy Jr. High during the Spring of 1960. One of the students in that class who made a very positive impression "way back then" was Arnold Richardson. I am saddened by by his passing.

Our deepest condolences to you, Norris, and to the rest of the family. I had communicated by facebook with Arnold following his surgery. We were fellow students at Provine, and did some after-hours music together. My appreciation of him increased even more when I watched his comments in his interview for "Mississippi Remixed." May God comfort each of you in days ahead.
