AGAJANIAN, Arthur – After a long life well lived, Arthur Agajanian died on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the age of 95. His wife of 64 years, Gertrude, predeceased him in October 2009. Art was born in Brantford, Ontario but called Kitchener Waterloo his home for the past 68 years. Those who were blessed to be friends with Art knew a man who had a kind spirit and practical view of the world. He was fun and feisty with a quirky sense of humour. He pursued knowledge and studied history, particularly relating to his Armenian heritage. He loved a good argument, and if you were lucky, he would sometimes let you win. He had a heart that was larger than his stature, wisdom that far exceeded his years, and fortitude that could put us all to shame. He exemplified how to age well with purpose and passion. Art was a humble man who made a remarkable impact on many organizations in our community through his charitable giving. Most notably, he supported the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo for the last twenty years. His gifts were directed to scholarships, including the Arthur and Gertrude Agajanian Award and the Murray Alzheimer Research and Education Program (MAREP). Art enriched many lives through his generosity and friendship. He will be missed. Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday April 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ratz Bechtel Family Centre, at 621 King Street West, Kitchener 519-745-9495.
