Azelle Witte Arnold
WHITE ROCK - Azelle Witte Arnold, 97, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Heritage at Lowman. Ms Arnold was born on August 6, 1915 to the late Homer and Florence Witte of Calhoun County, WV. Ms Arnold was a graduate of Glenville State College in Glenville, WV and had a very successful career as a school teacher which included 30 years in Okinawa, Japan teaching at the Zukeran Elementary School.
A memorial service celebrating Ms Arnold's life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Heritage at Lowman with a private burial in the Minnora Cemetery in Minnora, WV.
Ms Arnold is survived by her nephews, Mike (Lynn) Witte of Chapin, SC and David (Cindy) Suttle of Boiling Springs, SC; niece, Debbie (Jim) Robertson of Irmo, SC; great nieces and nephews, Kim Haley of Chapin, SC, Jeff Suttle of Newport Richey, FL, Maggie Robertson of Malta, OH, Greg Witte of Tampa, FL, Erin Robertson of Irmo, SC; great-great-nephew, Christopher Haley of Chapin, SC; great-great-nieces, Molly Suttle of Moore, SC and McKinley Witte of Tampa, FL.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Jeanne Witte Suttle; brother, Paul Witte; great-nephews, Chris Witte and Steve Suttle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Missions, 7000 Nursery Road, Irmo, SC 29063 for school scholarships to educate children in Mololola, Honduras.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Heritage at Lowman and Lutheran Hospice for their care and services to Ms. Arnold during her final days. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
