Pam and Wendell Fulton
We have known Barbara since Wendell first arrived at OSSTF in 1972. No one could have a better godmother than her (and her sister Peg) who extended her interest and friendship to all ages, participating in backyard games of badminton and children's parties at Chucky Cheese's. She also gave the most unique gifts including a blue lamb that played Brahm's Lullaby for baby Duncan and, later, a Kermit the Frog birthday cake. She also gave Hannah the gold bangle Peg wore as a child which Hannah can now pass on to her new baby daughter, sharing the common Scottish heritage of the Johnston clan. We are fortunate to have her pecan crescent Christmas shortbread recipe; and many plants from their garden graced our Bowmanville one. Barbara was always modern in thinking as well as fashion and it is a delight to have been numbered among her friends.

Earl Manners
Barbara's service to OSSTF and to secondary teachers across the province was legendary. I did not have the opportunity to work with Barbara directly during my years on the Provincial Executive, but did hear the many fond memories of people who did have the pleasure of working with her. My thoughts are with you.
