Barbara K. Babcock, 69, passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, in North Richland Hills.
Barbara was born on Aug. 7, 1943, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to William and Sidonia Knickerbocker. After graduating from Wappingers Central School, Barbara worked for IBM, Hess Oil and Dutchess County. She became the secretary of the Dutchess County Local Chapter of the Civil Service Employees' Association of the State of New York. Barbara later became the assistant to the chairman of the Legislature of Dutchess County, Lou DiBiase. Upon moving to Texas, she received her real estate license and worked for Mike Bowman Century 21 Realtors. Barbara started her career in the aviation industry with Braniff International Airways, and retired from American Airlines after 17 years of service.
